"Dance is the hidden language of the soul." Martha Graham
SAFETY: Each dancer's safety is our top priority. Parents and guardians, thank you for picking your student up on time. Please arrive before class ends and escort your child to and from the studio. For everyone's safety and protection, young students will not be allowed to leave the studio unaccompanied. For students' well-being, dancers should wear street clothes over their dancewear when entering and leaving the studio premises. Regular street shoes should be worn, as wearing dance shoes on any surface other than the dance floor can shorten the life of the dance shoe.
ATTENDANCE: Students are expected to attend class regularly and on time. Excellent Attendance awards will be given at the end of the school year.
ABSENCES: Make-up classes are possible only if a comparable class is available. Make-ups must be arranged through the office and taken within 1 month after absence.
CLASS CHANGES: All class changes for any reason must be made with director approval only. Teachers are not able to give class change permission.
STUDIO INFO: Newsletters, notices, and up-to-date information will be posted on the "info board" in the lobby, as well as here on our website. Please check this regularly to keep up with important and ever-changing studio news.
OBSERVING CLASS: Guests are welcome to observe in our classrooms during Visitor's Weeks only. These dates will be posted on our website and in the studio. If a special family member is visiting from out of town and would like to observe, please clear with the office prior to the visit.
PERSONAL PROPERTY: CVDA is not responsible for personal property. Please label all shoes, bags, backpacks, and personal items. Personal items should be brought into the classroom and stored in specified areas during class.
STUDIO SCHEDULE CHANGES: Our 2009-2010 schedule is subject to change at any time. We reserve the right to remove a class from the schedule should class enrollment not increase. Students enrolled will be notified should this take place.
CLASS CANCELLATIONS: In the rare event that we have to cancel class for one week, due to extreme emergency or teacher illness, we will do our best to notify each student by phone and/or e-mail with as much notice as possible. In this instance, either a make-up class will be arranged or a class credit given. Thank you for your understanding in these rare instances.
