Intro to Ballet: An introduction to ballet class teaches the fundamentals of classical dance, focusing on grace, posture, and technique through structured barre and center work. Beginners learn foundational positions, turnout from the hips, and basic movements like plies and tendue, designed to build strength, flexibility, and musicality
Ballet I: A Ballet Level 1 class is a foundational, beginner-level class designed for students with little to no prior experience. The class focuses on learning fundamental ballet vocabulary, basic positions (1st, 2nd, 5th), proper body alignment, and posture. Sessions usually include barre work, center exercises, and simple movement across the floor.
Ballet II: Ballet Level 2 is a foundational, next-step class designed for students with previous experience. It focuses on strengthening classical technique, increasing technical vocabulary, introducing 5th position, enhancing musicality, and improving body alignment. Dancers work on more complex barre and center exercises, including introductory turns, skips, and petit/grand allegro.
Ballet III/Pre Pointe: Ballet Level 3 is an intermediate class for students who have mastered foundations, focusing on increased technical precision, strength, and stamina. Key areas include refined turnout, complex barre/center work, basic pirouettes, and sometimes an introduction to pre-pointe work, with 1–2 classes recommended weekly. Pre-pointe is a specialized ballet class for dancers who are not yet on pointe, focusing on developing the necessary strength, alignment, and technique to prevent injury. Dancers wear soft ballet slippers, utilizing barre exercises, center work, and resistance bands to strengthen feet, ankles, and core.
Ballet IV: Ballet Level 4 is an intermediate-advanced class focusing on increased technical precision, stamina, and artistic expression. Dancers engage in complex barre work, adagio, turns, and grand allegro. 2 or more ballet classes per week is recommended for our level III and level IV dancers.
Ballet Conditioning: A ballet conditioning dance class is a specialized, non-syllabus workout designed to strengthen and lengthen muscles specifically for dancers, aiming to enhance turnout, core stability, and flexibility. These classes often combine Pilates-based floor work, cardio, and targeted resistance training (often with props) to prevent injury and improve technical proficiency.
